The Pacific Northwest has a lot of talent, and I plan to try to evaluate more and more prospects from that area. A combo-guard who caught my attention in the 2027 class is Payton Starwalt. Starwalt who will continue her sophomore campaign at West Albany High School in Oregon after spending the AAU season with the Valley Tropics.

She had a strong freshmen campaign averaging 20 points/game, 2.95 steals/game, and 3.27 assists/game while competing in the 5A Classification of the Oregon School Activity Association. I expect those production numbers to increase as she has been working on her craft, developing her skills during the off-season. Her talent has caught the attention of several division 1 programs, which Arkansas and Portland State have offered her with a few more schools showing strong interest.

Starwalt is an elite offensive player with a diverse skill set that makes her a major scoring threat. Her three-point shooting, mid-range game, and dribbling are standout aspects of her game, while her playmaking ability adds another dimension. Overall, Starwalt’s combination of scoring, playmaking, and competitiveness makes her one of the top combo guards on the West Coast.

Proud maternal grandma. Thanks so much for your kind words and support. Payton works so hard. We can’t even take vacations without Payton finding a park or gym to get her 2-3 hour practice in every day! . Her work ethic and dedication is amazing.
