The Xavier College Prep Girls Basketball Team is on a roll this season with a blazing 5-0 start. Besides the team’s success, the Gators have been racking up individual accolades. Senior Point Guard Jasmine Olivar scored 1000 career points joining the 1000 career point club. In a storied high school career, Olivar began her high school career at Fort Thomas High School in Bylas, Arizona.
Olivar was instrumental in leading the Apaches to a 1A state championship. She would transfer to 6A Xavier College Prep for her junior year. The point guard is a part of Coach Jennifer Gillom’s strong stable of guards to include Dom Nesland and Sarah Miller. Currently, Olivar is still under-recruited and holds offers from Park University, Hiram College, Glendale Community College, and Yavapai Community College.
I expect this young lady to continue to build more college interests into the season. She is a three level scorer, defends, and facilitates well. Her IQ and feel for the game can positively impact a program at the next level. Olivar is one of the best sleeper prospects still available in the 2024 class.
