Inaugural Honolulu Showcase

The GC3 Hoops Scholastic Series returns for its second event of the year, and this time, it’s bigger than ever. In partnership with Kamehameha Schools, Iolani School, and Punahou School, we are proud to introduce the inaugural Honolulu Showcase. This exciting new addition highlights top-tier matchups between Honolulu’s powerhouse programs—Kamehameha, Punahou, and Iolani—and standout teams from the mainland.

This year’s visiting teams include Salpointe Catholic (AZ), Estrella Foothills (AZ), and Bakersfield Christian (CA), each bringing unique strengths and storylines to the showcase. Salpointe Catholic enters the event as a formidable contender, fresh off last year’s Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) 4A State Championship. Currently holding a 10-3 record, the Lady Lancers have already secured notable wins against defending AIA Open Division champions Xavier Prep and 6A title hopeful Sunnyslope, establishing themselves as a favorite for the AIA Open Division Championship.

Estrella Foothills comes in as a rising force in Arizona high school basketball. With an impressive 18-1 record, the Lady Wolves have emerged as strong contenders for this year’s 4A state title. Their participation in the Honolulu Showcase will test their skills against Hawaii’s elite programs, offering fans some must-see matchups.

Meanwhile, Bakersfield Christian (CA) arrives with a 4-10 record but brings a team eager to develop and refine their game as they prepare for league play in January and February. This trip represents a valuable opportunity for growth and competition against some of the toughest teams in the showcase.

Having personally scouted many of these teams, I’ve put together a watchlist of top players to follow throughout the event. These athletes represent the best of their respective programs and are poised to deliver standout performances on this exciting stage.
