Hillcrest Prep has added another high-level prospect to its 2027 class with the arrival of Jamar Keyes Jr., a 6-foot-8 combination forward from Canton, Ohio.
Keyes comes to the Bruins from Canton McKinley High School, where he established himself as one of the top prospects in Ohio. Rated as an ESPN three-star prospect and ranked among the top 10 players in his class in the state, Keyes possesses an intriguing combination of size, skill, physicality and positional versatility.
What separates Keyes from many players his size is his ability to operate like a guard.
At 6-foot-8, he is capable of stretching the floor with efficient shooting from beyond the arc while also showing the touch to knock down mid-range jumpers. He can score off the catch, attack closeouts and create opportunities off the dribble.
His ability to handle the basketball allows him to initiate offense, create favorable matchups and put pressure on defenders from multiple areas of the floor. Keyes is comfortable playing on the perimeter but also has the strength and size to punish smaller opponents around the basket.
