The Eagles of Dream City Christian continue to soar to new heights into the 2023-2024 Season. Last year, GC3 Hoops Canyon Athletic Association Coach of the Year, Alan Mitchell, led his team to a Canyon Athletic Association Open Division State Championship. The Eagles seemed to hit the ground running in participating in some of the top off season events such as the GC3 Hoops Summer Invitational, the Border League, and scrimmages with area junior colleges.
I was able to catch up with Coach Mitchell to talk about the season underway. Here is our Q&A dialogue:
Q: What are you most excited about this season?
A: The thing I am most excited about this season is to compete for the Grind Session National Title and for a chance to play in Geico Nationals.

Q: What were your biggest accomplishments last season?
A: Our biggest accomplishment was winning the 22-23 CAA Open State Championship and sending all 6 of our seniors to college on athletic/academic scholarships to play at the next level.
Dream City sent these prospects to the next level last season:
Mia Davis – San Diego State
Mame Ndoye – San Jose State
Kiley Sours Miller – Arizona State
Amaya Washington – Chaminade

Coach Mitchell has done a phenomenal job in building a strong foundation for success with his program. I am excited to see the progress his team will make this season. I anticipate more of his prospects will fly off the recruiting board after the season. Dream City continues to help bring kids dreams a reality.
