To tip off the 24-25 Coverage Season for the GC3 Hoops Platform, I traveled to attend SOAZ Hoops Review Game of the Week between Ironwood Ridge and Pueblo. Big thanks to SOAZ Hoops Review Lead Scout Vince Lombardi for being a great host as I made the long trip from Phoenix to Tucson to attend an electric game between two of Southern Arizona’s Premier Girls Basketball Programs.

One of the prospects who jumped out is class of 2028 6 ‘1 Wing, Serenity Hampton. I have been scouting Hampton since her middle school club playing days with Tucson Youth AAU Program Ignite. In the Fall, Hampton attended the prestigious Gems in the Gym Fresh Faces Camp in Oakland, California, where she impressed National Scouts and Coaches in attendance. She earned her first division 1 offer from the staff at San Jose State University

Despite the loss to a tough Pueblo team, Hampton finished with a team high 28 points. Hampton is an exceptional athlete with the ideal physique to be a division 1 athlete, showcasing a powerful and versatile frame that stands out on the court. She excels as a three-level scorer, capable of dominating from beyond the arc, mid-range, and in the paint. Her ability to clean the glass makes her a relentless rebounder on both ends, and she brings a level of toughness and grit that sets her apart from her peers. Defensively, Hampton is more than reliable—her above-average skills allow her to guard multiple positions effectively, making her a valuable asset on both ends of the floor.

I would like to see her continue to evolve her ball handling and basketball IQ which would raise her recruiting stock. She has a ton of potential and upside as her best years of basketball are ahead of her. Without a doubt, Hampton is a sure fire high major prospect.
