The Fire N Ice Youth Basketball League (FIYBL) is set to tip off its inaugural season this fall, providing young athletes across the Valley with a unique opportunity to develop their basketball skills in one of the premier basketball environments in the country.
Running from September 14 through November 1, the FIYBL Fall League will feature coed divisions for 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th graders. While the league will offer weekly practices and games, its mission extends far beyond wins and losses. The primary focus of FIYBL is player development, helping young athletes build a strong foundation of basketball fundamentals while developing confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.
In today’s youth sports landscape, many players are rushed into competition without receiving the proper instruction needed to maximize their long-term potential. FIYBL was created to bridge that gap by providing a structured environment where athletes can learn the game the right way. Players will receive quality coaching, consistent skill development, and meaningful game experience that will prepare them for future success at the middle school, high school, and eventually collegiate levels.
What makes FIYBL truly special is its home venue. Participants will compete and train on the same courts that will be utilized by one of the nation’s premier prep basketball programs, Hillcrest Prep. Widely recognized as one of the top basketball academies in the country, Hillcrest Prep has produced countless Division I athletes and professional players throughout its history.
This season, Fire N Ice Arena will be home to a roster loaded with future college stars and professional prospects. FIYBL participants will have the opportunity to walk through the same doors, train on the same courts, and be inspired by athletes pursuing basketball at the highest levels. For many young players, seeing elite talent up close can be a life-changing experience that fuels their own dreams and aspirations.
The environment at Fire N Ice Arena is designed to resemble a high-level collegiate athletics program. With state-of-the-art basketball courts, strength and conditioning resources, recovery amenities, and a culture centered around excellence, FIYBL players will be exposed to a basketball atmosphere unlike anything traditionally offered in a recreational league setting.
League organizers believe development is the key to long-term success. Rather than focusing solely on championships and standings, FIYBL emphasizes teaching proper fundamentals, improving basketball IQ, encouraging effort, and fostering personal growth. The goal is simple: help every athlete leave the season better than when they arrived.
In addition to one practice and one game each week, every participant will receive an official league jersey and two complimentary skate coupons to enjoy Fire N Ice Arena’s recreational offerings during the season.
For families seeking a developmental basketball experience that combines quality instruction, elite facilities, and a pathway for future growth, the FIYBL Fall League represents an outstanding opportunity.
Early Bird Registration is available for $250 through July 31. Beginning August 1, regular registration will be $295.
The inaugural FIYBL season is more than just another youth basketball league—it’s the beginning of a basketball community built on development, opportunity, and inspiration.
